Late Entry Dragon
Dragon
No matter how many times I looked at it, the thing still scared the life out of me. Its eyes were red with evil and its skin was strong. An arrow can’t even penetrate through it. There was a reason they were used for war. They were born for it.
“Why should I let you live?” The wicked Queen said to me. She was calmly petting her pet dragon that loyally sat by her side. If I killed her, I would soon be the next to go.
I didn’t answer. I shouldn’t have to. She knew this.
“You and your people invaded my castle to kill me, and you want me to spare you?”
“I don’t want you to spare me.” I told her. “I want you to fight me with the last honor you have left.”
“Honor! Please! Save me the morality speech. You knights call yourselves chivalrous and honorable when, instead, you are oppressors of women everywhere! Where is the honor in telling women what to do and how to live?” Fire encircled her throne and found its way to me. “I fight for the right to lead my path my way. If you can’t handle it, then so be it, you’ll die like the rest of them.”
“If its independence you want,” I said, standing up. “then fight me as equals. With no mercy.” I drew a dagger and threw it at her.
She ducked it easily. “No mercy.” She said.
I drew my sword and leaped over the flames. The Queen pulled out her sword. We met in front of the throne. Our swords clashed together, sparks flying everywhere.
“Give it up.” She told me. “We both know you will win this fight.”
“Yes, I do.” I side stepped to her right side and kicked her abdomen. She went down like a pile of bricks, gripping her bleeding side.
“How did you know?”
“When you were busy killing my friends,” I pressed the blade against her throat. “I was watching your every move, finding your weaknesses. Just couldn’t heal that gash, can you?”
“You little-“ she tried to move but I placed a foot on her thigh.
“Don’t even try. I won fair and square. There is nowhere to go.”
“Fair? Who said anything about fair? You used your friends to find my weakness, I’ll use mine.”
At that moment, the Queen grasped my foot with a bloody hand and looked at her dragon. It opened it mouth. I knew far too well what that meant.
“You wouldn’t dare!” I said. “You’ll die too!”
“You really believe that? I told you. I have magic, you don’t.”
A ball of fire erupted out of its mouth, engulfing both of us.
The fires died down after a while. A figure emerged out of the ashes. It brushed the flecks off it’s porcelain white skin.
“Good boy.” The Queen told her dragon; her only friend.
