Jason loved this. It was just him, the water below and the sky above.
And his friends in the speed boat.
If all his life could be just like this always. Jason grinned wide. Yes, that would be just the most awesome thing, to spend his days waterskying. Heaven must be like this.
Then it hit him. True hell. Hell wasn't fire and brimstone. Hell was what he liked doing best until he couldn't stand it any longer. Trapped in eternity holding on to a rod and balance on a narrow strip of fiberglass board to keep him above water.
He signaled to his friends for a stop.
"Time to switch. One of you guys have a turn."
"But why? You were having the time of your life."
"Exactly. You've got to leave the party while it's at its best." Jason climbed aboard and unclipped the ropes from his belt and handed him to his best friend Rob. "Just let me know when you've had enough and want to switch back."
"I don't think that'll ever happen," Rob said.
Jason sent him off with a smile. Rob could find his own true hell here or anywhere. Jason sat down in the seat that still held a bit of Rob's warmth. He was back at having the best time of his life. Sharing the fun was true heaven.
