If I was stuck, I would spoil the story to the right person. I'm not saying you have to hide every little detail from the universe (and goodness knows, probably more people understand my universe than is good for me), but I think it's a pretty good reason to say you don't want to spoil things, especially when you're talking about it in an open forum.
