Nope. You can create a static item, but if you'd prefer to have a handwritten notebook or just documents saved to your harddrive, it's your choice. The only thing you'll want to put in your portfolio is for the Saturday contests, but that's only if you wish to actually participate in the contest. If not, just write based on the day's prompt and tuck it with the rest of your notes.
