it sounds to me like Erick's is the perspective to go for. I'm an incomer in my town so I notice things my friends take for granted and I don't have any history to tell me who I should and shouldn't believe (or that my best friend used to be a school bully). That lack of knowledge might be good for your story if you don't want your readers to know something too soon.
