I started here in 2007, the first couple of years I didn't do much and didn't know my way around. After 3 years the started the NEWBIE group and I joined. I learned how to find things to help my writing. I took a review class that helped me as a writer and reviewer. Another class gave me clues to turn short stories into longer works. I've done that twice. I know WDc has been the biggest help to me over the years. I've had 3 of my 5 short stories published since being on this site. There is always help when you need it. You may have to ask in a number of places but someone will give you a thread to grasp and off you go swinging.
