In case you're asking because you want to enter "The Dialogue 500" Open in new Window. [18+], then make sure you read the rules carefully. You can ONLY include dialog (no "he said" or "she said" allowed.) But if you're asking about general writing guidelines for your background stories and novels, then the advice given in this thread is good stuff. *Thumbsup*
