I didn't really like the ending in Northanger Abbey. She finished it just the way I wanted it to end, but she then spoke to the reader instead of finishing off with the happily ever after. I find it odd that it says she leaves it up to the reader to imagine the finish. At least that is what happened in my copy of it, but it did say it was edited so that it was up to today's standard English punctuation and grammar.
