I *am* a rebel! NaNo Rebel! I have a similar situation with the NYT Bestseller hopes. I actually took two years and finished a rough draft, but I don't think NaNo was the format for that novel and it definitely needs a great deal of editing and re-writing. It's not a first time author manuscript, either; no publisher would take a chance on it (though the concept of Lucifer being a good guy and marrying Eve might pique the "heresy!" crowd). So I set it aside and I've been working on different projects while I grow as a writer and putter away at it. When this thing is done, I want it to be as ideas-y and philosophical as it is in my head.
