I've kind of felt the same way but my daughter just confirmed that my story is boring, my characters are too old, and I need to change who the "bad guy" is.

My characters are in their 30's and she said that no young adult wants to read about characters in their 30's. The names I've named them are boring, too.

Now, mind you, she is only seventeen, but she's great at writing stories. Her spelling and grammar could be better, but overall she's a good writer.

So I'm considering redoing the whole story. I guess it's better to do that sooner rather than later.

I'm bummed.
