This same thing happened to me with my novel, New Worlds.

I just turned it into a romance between two antiheroes. An assassin and the captain of a half dragon army that is extremely corrupt. Their idea of a date night might be planning a murder for the high ruler of the half dragon realm, the Evlin.

I would say to go for it.
