Looking for holes in the story
Jeff Author Icon has an excellent NL this week, on authenticity. After reading it, I am looking for holes in my story, while still in its fetal stage. One rule of thumb is Chekov's gun. The other is probably deus ex machina.
What else should we look for? Any ideas?
