A man's beliefs is the fountain of his ways, just as knowledge and ignorance guide all voluntary, and sometimes involuntary actions.

Religion and beliefs are the light unders which we see our world. Lights abound and multiply, but none of them has the surety, certainty and tangibility that I've found in the Bible. It takes certain guts to say, 'These signs shall follow them that believe: in my name they shall cast out demons...' etc.

So, a character is just a shadow of his beliefs.
