Group Discussion Question # 1 1. How important is the title of a story or novel? I feel that the title is very much important. It is part of the Hook. I personally scan the titles when I look for a new book. Then, if one jumps out at me, I do the ultimate test—I read the first few pages. It, more than likely, will go home with me. In the case of a tie, and I am torn between more than one book, it turns out not to be a contest; they all come home. ![]() 2. Do you think the title should reflect more on the story as a whole or a certain aspect or theme of the story? If a title is intriguing, it helps promote the story or novel. For example, I am currently working on a story. This story is a mystery (with romance ![]() 3. How much time do you spend on your story and or book titles? The truth is I take anywhere from one week to 4 weeks. I do a lot of note-taking and What-ifs. If nothing else pops up, it's a go. Chrys |
