This is likely to be my last official NanoWrimo. I think writing 50,000 words in the month if November is not a good goal for me. I had decided that before and had not done Nano since 2019. I did write six words in November 2020 but I never signed up on the official site that year. This year, the opportunity to work with Jody popped up and lured me in. Then I read that NanoWrimo.org was going to purge inactive members and I did not want to lose the record of the half-million words I had written from 2011-2019. The only place I have those word counts recorded is on that site... Well, here's the thing: I do NOT want to lose. I will push myself to write crap to reach the goal of 50,000 words this month. That is what I did in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Of the 500,000 or so words I have written, probably half of them were crap. ![]() So how am I doing this year? A little better. Half of my 25,000 words are entries I will want to edit and keep in my book: "Remembering..." ![]() Anyways, this year, I will keep writing, writing, writing... I will try to write the things I planned to write but I will also have bursts where I simply write to catch up so I make it to 50,000 words and WIN. I discovered that NanoWrimo got rid of its Validator so I don't need to worry about which word count to use. This year, when my count on WdC is 50K, I will be done... What will I do next November? Hopefully, I will write. Hopefully, I will write consistently throughout 2025—hopefully. Hopefully, starting in December, I will clean some of the crap out of my port and polish up the stuff worth keeping. Anyways, that's a plan, eh? ~ ~ ~ JESUS is LORD! ~ ~ ~ |
