Here I am again. I hope you don't mind The embroidery section is something I did a lot of in college. I had a lot of friends in my dorm who got engaged and married. So, when I found out the date, I wanted to give a gift that was unique. I don't remember the moment I felt that embroidery was for me but I had the time so I would go to the store and find something I felt would be nice. I am glad that most of the kits had good instructions on each different kind of stitch, but I did my best. The first kit was of a bureau cloth with flowers. It helped to build my confidence. Next was a kit of his and her pillow cases. The result was quick and easy. There were a few more before I graduated and I felt that during summer vacation I would do more. The biggest challenge was to embroider a United States map with each state's flower around a border. I started out with enthusiasm but stopped after several hours. The piece is still in my embroidery box. I look at it from time to time but put it back for a period of time to finish it. I'm still waiting. But to be honest, I do want to finish and frame this piece. I just hope the thread is not too old and the hoop I have it in will not stretch out the piece. I have a brand new grandniece now. And the piece I want to start and finish is on my desk. I want to finish this before Miss Alice is one year old. I'll keep you informed. Thanks for the opportunity to chat. I hope you have a great day. |
