Good afternoon Princess Megan Rose. I have not heard of Tri Chem painting and will look it up. It sounds interesting and non-boring. I have heard other people talk about scrapbooking. I guess that was the time that I was in training for my certification in sign language to be an interpreter. I felt that it was nice to have a backup thing or skill if I ever felt that I was tired of teaching. I enjoyed being a science teacher. The students were great. The administrators were a pain in the you know where. Their promise to reduce paper work was really not 1/2 but 2/1. I stayed late as 8:00pm one day and felt that the pay was not worth it. Plus I had pets that needed to be fed and loved.
You mention Vietnam. My brother was sent there. Or rather he volunteered when he found out what the other part of the option was. He was a communication specialist. He also was a message currier via helicopter. One evening his helicopter was almost shot down. He knew that maybe his luck would run out so he took a small trip and went back to work. But in a way his luck did run out. He was exposed to the terrible Agent Orange. He now is in stage 4 of cancer. The VA hospital is working hard to help everyone who write Agent Orange on their patient form. The government should be ashamed of spraying that in certain areas where they knew men would be sent to. I hope that your father's trip to Vietnam was better.
My mother did not do special sewing. She liked to draw blueprints of houses with the hope that one might be her dream home. She never got the dream home. But she enjoyed the home in the country when we did move.
Later my mother developed Alzheimer's disease. With three children, you would think that we would plan how to care for her. We hired caregivers. But someone had to do shopping and write checks to pay two ladies weekends. My two brothers always ducked out with some excuse why they could not come. I had to give up my activities and drive 35 miles to go home. My mother requested to not be put in a nursing home. She had heard that the people/patients were not always treated nicely. We agreed to keep her home. The rest of the situation could be shared later. Just say that my sister in laws made some unbelievable requests of me.
I do not know if I mentioned that one hobby I participated in for 14 years was fencing. I wanted exercise and I got it. I am just happy things are moving along well enough for me. I wish you also a bright, happy and mind pleasing future. I feel that every day we can get out of bed and sing a song is a goodie.
