I was a child of the '60s, a teen and young adult in the 70s. I cut my teeth on Elvis, grew up with The Beatles, and matured to Kiss, Rush, Zep, Deep Purple and the rest of that crowd. My take is that after Toto released Africa in 1982, the music died. My kids grew up listening to it, and while my boys moved on to gangsta rap, my daughter, who early in life believed I hung the moon and to this day remains my partner in crime, decided at the age of twelve that we had a song together, and while I might listen to classic rock, I'd never have to listen alone.
