I will admit that I go a little rogue when it comes to the outline revisions. There are times when I will start off very simple for draft one so that I have room to grow for outlines. Other times, since I prep more than one novel, I will do one novel outline per revision. This year is similar because I'm prepping two different series and they each have 4-5 books planned so far. I was able to do the overall series outlines for draft one. Draft two focuses on Book 1 as I do know most of that book for each. There are some questions and empty spots in the middle books that I can try to develop for draft 3. For the spare romance novel that I'm prepping, I did the outline for the novel with a couple spots in progress. I also need to put together a timeline for the whole series with the different characters and see where around or after each one is to the Thomas/Kyle books already in rewrite. I'm also bringing other novels into the same world so have scenes where characters for other books show up as secondary or minor characters. It's fun but overwhelming. |
