I can think of at least four really good mentors of mine since I've arrived here... How would you decide which of them receives the MB? Could you do a dice roll?

The first and most impactful one is Joey's Ready for the Giving

. He patiently encouraged me and worked with me on several stories, demonstrating how to draw my emotions and settings more vividly and memorably. We talked a lot in those early days; he's always willing to share some of his life's wisdom with me. He even graciously allowed me, as a hapless Newbie, to plow through his portfolio and write reviews for his generous Auto Rewards. Looking back, I don't know how much my reviews actually helped him... It was rather like raiding grandpa's piggy bank

My second loyal mentor would have to be Max Griffin 🏳️‍🌈

, who has traced my path from hesitant Newbie to published author, guiding me with helpful reviews and advice every step of the way. Max is an expert on active voice, timeline and PoV, and I've submitted him at least one story a month for reviewing for at least two years. One of my stories is included in his Winter Edition of Tales from the CrossTimbers, out December 1st.

My third favorite mentor is my pal, Jack of Diamonds

, who has a taste for Biff Brewster style action adventure yarns. If I've written a dramatic tale of crime and hullabaloo, I know who's gonna enjoy it! Jack is dependable and keen, and he'll be honest with what he sees, if there are details that need refining or deeper research. His enthusiasm for the twisty stuff inspires me, and his presence here is reassuring.

My fourth mentor is LightinMind

, who I've come to find as a reliable, thoughtful person to discuss worldview and spirituality with. He reviews both fiction and nonfiction, and always brings a unique, deeper perspective to the table.
