Influences --

Question for the writers - what influences your writing? Like I know for Suzanne Collins (Hunger Games) she's said Reality TV shows and how the news covers the wars was definitely an influence in her writing of the Hunger Games.

For me, my early influences are Victoria Holt, Gothic romances, and regency romances. What I took away from JK Rowling's writing is how seamlessly she wove in clues that fit in books later on in the series. What I take from Collins' writing is the dystopian nature of the world. Historical stories also influence my writing, but require much research to be accurate.

Poems? I like Emily Dickenson's style of writing, but Robert Frost's heart.
