I don't have much experience with depression, but I do know when I'm feeling down some coping strategies focus on self-care and lifestyle changes. And lifestyle changes can be daunting. One thing I found that really helps is some type of exercise. Taking a 20-30 minute walk helps me. I also like to use "light" weights - 5-10 pounds and I have a small routine with arm curls. Researching a light weight workout might help. Believe it or not, I feel funky if I don't drink enough water so I'm always working hard to get my water in. I would say determination when it comes to looking for work is challenging, but it helps. Maybe consider doing something you wouldn't normally consider doing? Maybe volunteering for local charity will get you out of the house and help open doors? For me, I find if my feet are cold, I'm miserable so I always try to keep the feet warm. Thick heavy sweaters and blankets help. I remember when I was the scouts I loved my hand warmers and foot warmers when we were out on colder camping trips. I hope I helped in some way. There is always professional help. Researching local resources close by you might be a place to start. Hugs, Steph |
