I try to write for the Dear Me contest every year because it does help to give me goals to work toward. I don't always achieve my goals, but I do manage to get closer. While I never really place, it's a great way to frame your writing/reading/reviewing etc goals for the year. And I always try to take a playful spin with it a safari adventure into the writing jungle.
