I liked your story for the WC yesterday and thank you for mentioning the 24 words part.. it stuck in my mind and I ended up writing one before bed. I didn't win, but I liked my little story and it counts for the Bradbury. I would have commented on your entry but they don't allow that in the forum. You did a good job! 22 entries for 24 hour contest is a lot, I think. Yours was definitely in my favorite five of the day.
