Hello, Amethyst Angel, aka Green Willow!
INITIAL IMPRESSION / OVERVIEW:
I enjoyed reading your "Honor" poem today.
Your writing kept me riveted and I read straight through to the end every time.
I thought it was a beautiful poem in honor of our Veterans.
MORE DETAILED FEEDBACK:
Happy Writing.Com Anniversary month! I know Anniversary Reviews is technically closed this month, but I'm carrying on the tradition anyway. I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting and encouraging. It is meant to be honest and respectful, and in accordance with WDC guidelines.
I found your poem in the "Honoring Our Veterans Challenge" forum today. I was curious if any of the entrants also had anniversaries this month, and saw that you did, so I opened your poem and read it. I enjoyed it greatly, so I decided to give you a review as a little anniversary gift. Happiest anniversary wishes to you and best wishes on your writing future too!
Your poem was clearly appreciative of our Veterans' service. I found it heartwarming, beautiful, and inspiring to read. I thought it was a wonderful entry in the Challenge, exactly in the spirit of what Country Mom first envisioned and Old Monty carried out for years and now, I believe, Steph B will appreciate this kind of entry too. Well, she probably appreciates all entries! I did. I think it's extra nice when entries are uplifting and grateful though, and yours is.
I thought your rhyming was lovely and lent a musical feeling to your poem.
My favorite phrase in your poem was "treasure freedom." It might just inspire my entry this month.
I seem to remember reading in the news feed that you were having technical challenges and might not be writing as much, so I was extra glad to see your entry. Thank you for persevering!
I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your "Honor" poem.
I appreciated that you included a link to the challenge below your poem and mentioned that your poem was written for it.
I liked that you included your word count and line count below your poem, and that you made them smaller, so they were obviously a notes section and not part of the poem.
My very favorite part of your "Testimonies" blog post is that your appreciation for our Veterans shined throughout it.
IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR PIECE STRONGER:
I would love to have something great to share here, but I think it's wonderful as it is. Well done!
As with any review, please take what serves you and release or ignore what doesn't.
CONCLUSION:
I enjoyed reading your "Honor" poem, and empathized with your sentiments that you expressed in it.
Thank you for sharing your time, creativity, heart, patriotism, experiences, and writing with the Writing.Com community!
Once again, happy anniversary month! I hope the year ahead is filled with blessings and joy for you!
May love, joy and peace be yours in abundance, during your anniversary month, and always!
