Hello Amethyst Angel h✟k ♡

Thank you for taking the time to enter the June 2025 round of the "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window..

Enclosed please find the following official judges' review, for your consideration.

Positives

I'm enjoying the ongoing saga of Reema and Dan! Like the other story I read recently featuring these characters, I think the real strength of the piece is their relationship to one another. I also like the mix of different cases/encounters they've had to date.

Suggestions

The action at the end felt a bit melodramatic. Earlier in the story, it's specifically mentioned that Dan has never taken a life in his career, but he wrests control of the gun and starts rapid-fire spraying bullets at people, taking them out, and then quips about it afterward. It felt like there should be more gravitas to this moment where Dan is being pushed further than he's ever been pushed before.

I also thought the idea of the "contract" being prepared where Dan will drop the case felt a little inauthentic. In this type of situation, it's not a really a "parties in good faith agreeing to the terms of a deal on paper" kind of problem, so the idea that a signed contract would be sufficient seemed a little off.

Overall

Overall, this was another fun read starring Dan and Reema. Nice job!

I hope you've found this review helpful, and thank you again for entering the contest!
