For me, this story stretched the level of contrivance just a bit too far with the reveal that basically of the men Natalia hired being undercover operatives for various law enforcement and intelligence agencies. I know there was a bit of "and then he woke up from a bizarre dream" element at the end of the story which could explain some of the coincidences and randomness of the events prior, but I'd recommend trying to flesh out the plot of the story and make it a little more grounded to "sell" the reader on the fabricated realism a bit more before you hit them with the dream twist at the end.
