What is it with cats, those feline beings that like to be silent until the last moment, only to then jump out at you. Or there's those that wait until you're a step away before running away. Then there's those with pitiful meows, ones that just make you wonder. Then there's those where, just after you've been sitting for a while, decide to climb your leg, and curl up on your lap, all but daring you to move them. Always something.
