It can be interesting to see how a word can change over the centuries. Broadcast originally referred to spreading seeds over a wide area, like grain or other crops grown in a large area. Then, a hundred years ago, it began to be used for those sending info over the radio. Nowadays, it's referred to other types of newscasters. So many changes to a word. This happens to other words as well, especially as they get passed around.
