I have to chuckle, as I live in Western New York. Still, my younger brother lives in South Carolina, working as a physical therapist, the sort that makes home visits, and one of the things he brought up was, during his first winter, after a light snowfall, to him, was that his boss had called him to tell him to return home, saying that no one was allowed to do any work, and that he was going to miss out on Emergency Weather pay if he kept working, after he had seen a few patients. It's like a meme that was around at the time - South Carolinians are Spartans during a Hurricane, but Monty Python knights in a Blizzard.
