I feel the same way. I don't want to give anyone false hope. I sure don't want to be the reason they're not writing anymore. But heck, if they all they do is Mary Had a Little Lamb type stuff, I am not going to say I love it. I will not blast them out of the water either, though, where do you draw the line? This is a toughie and something we are face everyday as Reviewers. I try to be gentle, and honest, no matter what the cost. I follow my heart.

Don't force it.

A forced blog is an annoyingly boring blog. It takes some practice and research: read other successful blogs (here on WDC or beyond: I've got some really great blogs you could visit if you wanted some ideas. dooce.com is probably one of the most successful on the 'net today)

Keep your ears and your mind open to ideas. It took me forever to realize "hey, that could be a really great blog topic!"

It also takes some bravery, as most times the most commented on blogs tend to be among the more controversial. But again, don't force it. Just don't be afraid to say what you think. Honesty begets comments.

And be ready for dissenting, sometimes strong and personal, dissenting opinions.

WDC blogs are a great way to start. Once you get the hang of it, the regular entries will come. Good luck! Email me if you need.

I hear she's a good debater, though (read: can deflect criticism onto her opponent), so hopefully Biden is on top of his game.

The woman should definitely give everyone--especially Mr. "Country First" McCain--pause.

BTW, I've been to Mexico AND I can see the moon from my house. I'm not a part of the PTA, but I've got three kids--I think that'd work. Damned if I shouldn't run for VP, huh?

Frankly, I've seen all major interviews with Palin, and I've come to understand why the campaign has censored her from reporters. Governor Palin lacks a lot of knowledge about foriegn policy and national issues, and when quizzed, she goes on long-winded answers, evading the question. Katie Couric was pretty testy when she was interviewing Palin. Sean Hannity was supportive and did not ask challenging questions. Charlie Gibson took on a more mature attitude, tutoring her about the Bush Doctrine. I can almost swear Gibson wanted to laugh in her face.

I suggest tuning into the VP debate next week for comic relief.

Palin isn't ready for TV interviews much less the presidency, what's going to happen in the VP debates! She's going to be slammed by Biden.

I have to wonder if some people just give their knee-jerk reactions to such reviews (anger). The thing is, we all have to remember that we can't please everyone all of the time--that includes us as the reviewer and the reviewee. I've had a few people review my stuff and say "not for me, but thanks" and others who were downright jerks about it.

Some people will just take offense at anything that doesn't laud their work--you don't have any control over that. I think it's cool that you review stuff you don't like. It depends on my mood on whether or not I will.

1. I Love my family.
2. I'm very blessed to have survived the things I've survived and ended up where I am today in my present circumstances.
3. I know that I'm a good writer but also fear that I'm a good writer.
4. I'm a good person.
5. We are all part of one another and part of everything in the universe. Nothing happens that doesn't effect each and every one of us. Every action, every thought has a ripple effect on our surroundings and on the world. (Now that's a sobering thought and well it should be!)
6. I need to exercise more.
7. I need to eat better.
8. I love my dog and cats.
9. I love to read,
10. I love nature, books, art, travel, foot rubs, chocolate, carrot cake and a hot shower in the morning.

I LOVE Writing.com but I do have a gripe. I do a lot of reviewing and, for the most part, the items that I review are very, very good. However, there are some that are not written well at all and offend all of my sensibilities as a reader and writer. When I review these things I don't want to have to lie and say they are what, to me, they just aren't! I leave reviews for these items also. If I didn't like something I say I didn't like it and I say why I didn't like it. I don't blast the writer or call them ugly names or make fun of what they've written. If I did those things I could understand how that would be offensive. Is it wrong to take this approach? I'd like to know what others think but don't know where to post this problem.

Making myself Blog is like making myself go on a diet! I haven't mastered that skill yet, but I'm going to try (the Blogging, that is)!

This election thing runs rampant in my house. My husband and I are strong Obama supporters. We watch MSNBC, CNN, FOX, NBC, etc., ad nauseum every day and, sometimes, every evening.

I've seen McCain flipflop on so many issues I'm getting sea sick!

I liked Obama's approach to the the new Federal Bailout proposed by Bush. He wants to take his time to see what it's all about before committing to it and I think that's the best way to go. McCain was supporting it before he even read it!

I get physically when I see/hear Sarah Palin. Talking about lipstick on a pig!

My venting for today is over.....for now, anyway!
