Cliche Cache Sweetheart? I need to write a poem
using my favorite cliche.
But I don't have one do I?
I don't know which one to say.
That's true, you tend not to use them-
in fact you and cliches are rather absurd.
I'm the one with the fifty cent phrases,
it is always you with the five dollar word.
So what can I write about?
I need a poem done by ten.
I don't want to mess up the challenge.
Haven't been this flummoxed since I don't know when.
You could use 'put a duck in it.'
Oh no, no one would know what you mean.
How many people have stuffed-duck eating puppies
that strew stuffing everywhere and in between.
Maybe...but no...that isn't a cliche....
or...no, darn it, that isn't either.
I don't use cliches, I was taught to avoid them
like the plague...oh what a bother!
Huh? I did? Oh I did, but it can't be construed
as a favorite just because I inadvertently used
one while I'm frazzling over writing this,
I'll be glad when it's done...oh what bliss!
That's it! Hon, That's what you do!
Write this conversation I had with you!
It will take you five minutes, perhaps only one...
