Breaks

"Breaks"

A list, I think,
I'll make
of things, I know,
can break.

Like wings and bones
and shoelaces,
and wills and nails
and china vases.

These are, of course,
a few;
many more, I think,
I knew.

If knowing, per chance,
is part,
of avoiding a
broken heart.

I'll try my best
to remember,
the breaks that
made me limber.
