Those Eyes

Behind those eyes
Unspoken thought,
Performs its playful dance,
To melodies that only you can hear.
They hypnotize
A lover caught,
So held within their glance,
No other worldly focus may appear,
Within a foggy dim-lit atmosphere.

Like lustful pools
Wet with desire,
They smile upon the brave
Forgotten souls of those who dare come in.
Imprudent fools
Untried by fire,
Forever they enslave.
Without them even knowing where they've been.
Eternal servitude with just a grin.

Stand fast my heart
Against the song
A temptress sings so bold,
And gird my soul against their vague disguise.
To step apart
Among the strong,
Forbearing lures you hold
That I escape the danger you devise,
Within unspoken thought behind those eyes.




Note: This poem has a unique, but strictly defined (meter-rhyme). It consists of three Liamic Stanzas (9-line).The structure of each stanza is: [(2 - a)(2 - b)(3 - c)(5 - d)(2 - a)(2 - b)(3 - c)(5 - d)(5 - d)].
