About This Author
A changeling spirit,
constantly evolving,
revolving around an inner core,
spinning forth legend and lore,
stories and lives
as I come to grips
with who and what I am,
have been and may be.
I am a phoenix:
rising ever above and beyond!

Looking Ahead
Looking Forward
She sits,
waiting still
as she has for many years now.
When her husband passed,
he was supposed to join her
on that bench: to share it and each other
for eternity. He passed at least five years ago.
And still
she sits,
waiting still.
Alone.
And yet, her expression
still shows hope.
Looking forward
to the time
he will sit beside her
and they will once more
be together.
Dropnote ▶︎ first saw the woman on the bench at a graveyard over five years ago. I did some research
and was told when her husband died, there was to be a statue of him next to her on the
bench. When I read he's died, I figured it would probably take several years to
complete the statue, but nope. Nothing yet. I find it inexplicably sad. Went by the
cemetery on Saturday, and she's still sitting there, alone. I knew there was a poem in
this. Then the prompt came for the PPC6 for next week and Bam! I knew it would be a very
different take from that of most folks, so went with it! :) ~fyn |
