Ode to Candy
O Candy, sweetest treat,
Thou most delicious vittle!
No steak or lobster meat
So tartly froths my spittle!
Without you would I die,
And verily I swear it!
My pancreas doth lie --
With medicine, I bear it.
Your garment, ever dapper,
Doth hint of what's inside,
But now, disrobe! For wrapper
'Twixt me and sweets reside,
Which will not do -- my glucose
Requires your confection,
And posthaste! For I've overdosed
My insulin correction!
