My Dearest Wish
If I could have one wish today,
It probably would be this
Please bring a baby sister my way
And fill my heart with bliss.
It's dreadful to be lonesome
With no one round about
No one to play with and have fun
No happy children's shouts.
Just me alone to sit and ponder
And pass the hours away
Often my thoughts just idly wander,
To a far-off nook and stay.
So if there is an angel sweet
Who hears my wish today
Please make my dreams complete
And send a sister out my way.
