I felt the same way when I was approaching the one year anniversary of my Mom's death. It was like--How can time be moving farther away from when she was here? I wasn't ready to deal with it either. I was mourning the loss of my mother. It became stark whenever I had the urge to go to the phone and call her about a question I had about a recipe of hers or to share some news with her. I realized all over again she wasn't there.

Things will get better. Thoughts will be filled with the good times and laughter and adventures shared without all the tears. But I know a year was not enough.

I hope that things do get better. With me, it seems like two steps forward and then a step back sometimes, but I am not as fragile as before. I like to believe it's improving day by day with God's grace and help.

Fear and worry are my biggest obstacles, too.

But we look at what we can accomplish when we try and it is encouraging.

Fear is there every day to battle. We keep trying and that's what matters.

I was stressing about my washing machine, but then I tried doing what the manual said and it seemed to work. I ended up cautiously optimistic about it.

Didn't rush into anything, just hoping and praying for guidance from above.

Home Goods is a store I haven't been to in a while. I used to find cow parade cows there.

Food Is Memories

Prompt: Food is memories. Jose Andres Do you have happy memories or bad memories attached to food?

I love food. There is some food I don't care for. I love turkey at Thanksgiving. I love baked goodies. Christmas and Thanksgiving are good memories about food. Parties with cakes. Going to your favorite restaurant and having shrimp, fresh baked bread and soup. Bob Evans is good food.

Going to a hog roast. I don't care for roasted hog. I don't like pulled pork sandwiches. I am not a fan of Mexican food.

Ice Cream. I love ice cream.

Cook Outs. I don't like steak. I do like hot dogs and cheeseburgers on the grill.

Food. I love most food. We need food to live. I am glad we have variety of foods to choose from.
