Scary to look back. But we aren't as scared of things when we are young. The years teach us to be more cautious and frightened but thank God you were okay!

. I think I was slightly unhinged when I reflect on what I did when I was young. I was certainly more adventurous and carefree - possibly naive and stupid too, lol!

It's sometimes strange to think back on the things we did in our youth. With the added life experience and wisdom that comes with age, some of those things sure seem downright crazy in retrospect!

I haven't been to the library since the pandemic. Before that we would get DVDs from the library. It was free and we got a lot of unusual shows that way. Way back I used to use the library computers while I was traveling up to see my Mom. I miss going to the library.

Yesterday, my Internet was out. I could have gone to the library but I didn't think of it. I don't even know if they still let people on their Internet. This is a good reminder.

I like physical books better, but I have a lot on my Kindle.

I read the kindle version and then go and buy the physical version to keep. Sometimes, I buy the physical copy first and then download it on kindle... I have very strange reading habits. I think reading the hard/paper backs on the sofa... but the kindle at night with my insomnia.

I loved road trips, but that was then, difficult though they might have been.
I couldn't even take a half-hour trip, now, in old age. I'm even wary to see the cardiologist in next town, which is about a 20 minute drive for me. So I can see your point,

Weekend Hopes

I was at the bank with my lawyer deposting money in an account. The money came from my mother's bank and I closed out the account. The checks were made out to my mother's estate. That bank is stupid. I have a account with Mom's money. I still get depressed. It has been 4 months and 2 weeks since she died.

We got rain this morning. The rain we were supposed to get this afternoon was canceled.

I hope for a quiet weekend. I want to do reviews and maybe go out for dinner at Bob Evans.

My weekend agenda. How about your plans?

What Makes Me Powerful

I wrote a Prompt what makes me powerful and didn't do an entry. I will now.

I worked midnights in nursing. I took care of the mentally ill. That required a super power. I did it. Having knee replacement. A blood clot in my lung. Losing my mother. I go on. These things give me power to go forward. I pray to God. He gives me the strength to do so. Somedays, I feel useless. I can't do the things I used to but I go forward. You know, we are more powerful then we know.

Most Daring Thing

Prompt: What is the most daring thing you have ever done?

My friend lived at a lake by her parents house. We were eighteen and it was summer. It was nighttime. Her male friend came over in his canoe. He wanted to take us for a ride in his canoe. We got into the canoe and had a couple of beers. Here we are on the water. We could have fallen in and drowned. We went to the guy's house to use the bathroom. We paddled the canoe there. We got done and went back in the canoe. I can't believe I did that. I would be too afraid now. It was an experience. It scares me now when I think about it. I was young and wild.

Rising To Another Day

I steal a line from The Dooby Brothers China Grove. Another day. I pray for God's help every day.

I get out of bed everyday even when I feel down. I have things to do and look forward to.

I am dealing with a cold. Hopefully, it will rain. It will get cooler.

Not Feeling Good

I have a sinus infection. I went to Immediate Care. I actually saw a Doctor. Not an a NP. He said I have a cold. I am on Amoxicillin. I went to CVS. I picked up my Amoxicillin, probiotics, hair dye and Danielle Steels book Resurrection.

We got a pink of rain.

I watched Pretty In Pink. I love this movie.

My husband bought home a little ceramic girl statue from Mom's. We put her in the yard and I named her Laura Engles.

I have laundry to fold up. I need to do a few things. A new day.

Libraries

Prompt: Joy asked us about libraries. She asked if we go to libraries and if libraries would ever be a thing of the past.

Mom and I used to go to the library years ago for years. I got a Nook and started to download books. Mom got a kindle and played games on it. She ordered books in the mail and she and her friend traded books. I don't read anymore like I used to. I buy a Danielle Steel book. Anymore, I read stories on line. I haven't been to the library in a long time.

Libraries. People research online. They buy ebooks. Kids study but they do everything online. I do. I don't know. Libraries may be a thing of the past but those of us who love books. I think we will still want and love physical ones.

Road Trips

Prompt: What do you think of road trips? Do you have any memories you would like to share?

Road trips. I don't want to go on road trips anymore. We used to go on 5 hour trips to Frankenmuth, Michigan to the Christmas Store. We stopped at rest stops and gas stations. I loved going to Frankenmuth. After my knee surgery, I don't think I can take a 5 hour road trip. My cousin wants me to Holland, Michigan this summer. That's a hour and a half. I can do that I think.

My husband and I drove to Terre Hautte, Indiana. It looks like the Smokey Montains. That is a hour and a half trip. We went to the Smoky Mountains. A 10 hour trip. The scenery is beautiful. Mountains. Hills. I love the shops there.

Dad was in the Air Force and we traveled to Washington State, Tennessee, Florida and Arkansas. I hated moving and traveling. Road trips. Unless someone has a RV, I can borrow, road trips are too hard for me. Being cramped in a car. Same with airplanes. I will go if someone invites me to use their private jet.

I go to Lake Michigan. That is a 45 minute trip. Going shopping is a half hour. I am happy with short trips. No road trips for me anymore.

Holiday Weekend

We had a good Fourth of July. We had a Cook Out. Steak. Hot Dogs. Hamburgers. Baked Beans. Chips.We had Oreo ice cream cake.

My son leaves to go back to Oregon. He was here for 3 weeks. I am going to miss him.

No plans this weekend. I hope to go to Church.

I hope my husband and his brother bring over Mom's grandfather clock. It is pretty.

Monday. Back to normal routine and getting things done.

4th Of July

4th of July. My husband and I are having a Cook Out. We are having steak, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, potatoes in the microwave and baked beans and chips. My son is dropping by.

It is still in the 80s. We need some rain.

I decided to take Mom's Grandfather Clock. We are almost done cleaning out the house.

I am enjoying the 50 States Adventure Challenge.

Praying things get better.

Enjoy the beauty. Get along with others. Try to keep the peace. Find happiness. We need that. Love God and Jesus. Keep the world beautiful and be kind to each other. Do all you can to make the world a better place.
